Jaggery Baked Pudding

Preparation Time 20 Minutes Cooking Time 30 Minutes Serving 8 People



You will need

  • Condensed Milk ½ cup

  • Water ½ cup

  • Eggs 3

  • Grated Jaggery 1 cup

  • Bread ( Buttered ) 4 slices

  • Spices and Nutmeg ½ Tsp

  • Handful of chopped Cashew nuts

  • Pinch of Salt

Let’s make it

  • Step 1 Mix Condensed milk and water, and mix in the Jaggery.

  • Step 2 Beat the eggs together with the spices and mix in the Jaggery, milk and salt.

  • Step 3 In a bowl, put slices of buttered bread and pour the Jaggery mixture.

  • Step 4 Bake / Steam, till firm. Later sprinkle with chopped Cashew nuts.

This is a Modification of the Sri Lankan Dessert Watalappan. You can change the sweetness by increasing or decreasing the amount of Jaggery you put in to the mixture.
